What is POP mail?

POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) is the standard protocol for sending and receiving email. The emails are held on a sever. To receive and send the email you need a POP 3 client such as Outlook Express. You can have up to 25 POP3 email accounts with a Supahosts Professional Hosting Package.

How do I set up Outlook to receive email?

Open Outlook Express and click "Tools" then "Accounts".

Next, click the "Mail" tab, then click "Add" and select "Mail".

The email wizard will start. Type in your name and then click "Next".

Enter your email address (which for example could be anything@yourdomainname.co.uk ) and then click "Next".

You will now need to enter the Incoming Mail Server, in this case it is www.yourdomainname.co.uk

Then you will need to enter the Outgoing Mail Server, in this case it is your ISP's Outgoing Mail Server (For example if you connect with BT Openworld your Mail server will be mail.btopenworld.com )

Then click "Next".

You will now need to enter your account name and password, which are:

Account name = username Password = p4Ssw0rd

Again, click "Next". Finally, click "Finish".


Can emails using my new address be forwarded to another account e.g. my hotmail account?
